About WPDiggstown05

My name is David Diggs. I was like a lot of people when I was younger. I did not know what I wanted to do or even more important how to go about deciding what I could do. It was a little different for me because I grew up with physical disabilities. I was injured when I was a young child (13 months) due to a car running over my body and dragging me down a dirt road. I guess this proves that even as a child, I wouldn't give up. The accident should have killed me but it didn't. I spent much of my life living and growing up in hospitals. I was raised by doctors, nurses and caregivers. I guess it is only natural that I would wind up working in healthcare at some point.

disAbility Daily

Hello,

I have a physical disability.  In fact I have been disabled since I was just over a year old.  I never thought about it that much until I got older.  Now that I have lived over half of my life I  realize how having a lifelong disability has affected not only me but the people I have come in contact with.   I wanted to start a blog where people like me might share their thoughts and maybe even support each other.  This is not about money or pity.   I have a lifetime information about living and working with a disability and I think maybe, just maybe I can help others.  There were many times in the past I wished I could just talk to someone with a disability to see how they felt about something or how they overcame a particular challenge.   I felt really alone in my situation sometimes and that can damage you if you don’t get it under control.  Today we have the Internet which provides a place that we can easily communicate with people around our city or around the world.  People with disabilities are not segregated by race, gender, religion, or politics.  We come in all shapes, sizes and colors.  If you are not disabled chances are you will know or meet someone with a disability in your lifetime.  Come on this blog adventure and let’s see if we can make a positive change in someone’s life.  – Dave Diggs
